what kind of lighting do u use?

i would like to know what kind of lighting that everyone uses to successfully grow. the lights that i use come from the walmart growing section lol i have about 4 lights with 15 watt 16 inch.

ur better off saving the money u spend on compact floros and buying a small hps from insidesun or something.
i use 4 600watt hps Galaxy Digital Ballasts. i also run a 400 galaxy digital metal halide in my mother room. i also have 2 1000watt sunsystem switchable ballasts that one will be used for another mother room.
then i have 2 4ft flourescents over my ez cloner

I've seen those lights at wal-mart, and as soon as I move out of my parents house, im going to get a few of those.

thats becuz u are super seasoned grower lol, of course i'd give my right arm for those kinds of lights.

oh yeah and magical man they are pretty cheap and work pretty effectively.

Not just a seasoned grower needs to use thoes lights. It would be wise for anyone to use thoes kinds of lights and keep a seperate room for veg/mother and budding.

all thought its possible to grow with floros u would be better off savin up ur money and gettin an hps because its worth it u produce a higher yeild and in a short amount of time.but there is some downfalls like the eletricty bill and the heat they produce.but if u dont wana go hps go with the next best thing THE SUN

Not disputing you but just addressing a conception by many new grower on heat and electricity on a hps(not calling you a new grower either). Yes a hps will get hotter then A CFL but if you want the same power out of cfl's as you get from an hps you need dozens wich WILL generate more heat then just one 250w HPS and i garuntee you to get as much light as a hps you will probably double your watt consumption and be around 500w overall for a good cfl system. And even if cfl are cheap its what like $150 for a hps and ballast. where to get all the lamps or parts to make your own and the bulbs and the cords you still spend close to $100 at least.

That is why without a doubt no disputing the fact that there is no way to match a HPS grow light with any other form of lighting besides the sun.

i'd definetly go with which ever is not gonna give it away to my roommates as to why the electric bill is hella up lol. so the cfl is the most cost effective?

i got this light... but havent used it, besides testing it. and im sure 4 or 6 dollar change in the electricity bill isnt gonna turn heads. and if it does, blame it on the ac or tv, lol.

Over all HPS are even more cost effective for lumens output per watt. And cheaper to buy to get the same lighting. Read my above post...

Nice but rediculously priced bulb. $179! and then you need their ballast.

A pricey bulb, but 5 year gaurantee...also, it will run off any HPS ballast
