Cleaning the smell?

Does anyone know a good way to get rid of the smoky smell in a room? I'm not talking about immediately after you've smoked. I'm talking about the "stale" smell in a room that comes from months of smoking.

You know, kinda like some people's house smells like cigarette smoke. Mine is beginning to have a stale smell, too, and regular cleaning (mopping, dusting, etc.) doesn't seem to have an affect. It almost seems like the smell has worked it's way into the walls, if that's possible. Do you think washing down the walls would help? If so, with what?

washing down the walls could def. help. my buddy uses a bleach and water mixture, puts that in a spray bottle and just sprays and wipes down his walls. smells a little like bleach but feels and smells fresher afterwards. let me know if it worked out.

Thanks, but I'm surprised to hear that I should use bleach. Wouldn't that literally take the paint off the walls? (Or, at least lighten the color?) I guess that would be OK if the walls were white, but ours are kinda beige-white.

i think a diluted enough bleach mixture probably wont harm the walls. at this point, since regular cleaning isnt doing the trick, it seems to be your only option. i was going to suggest febreeze, but im guessing you thought of that already.

and yes, stale smell is caused by the smoke literally seeping into walls and furniture. if youve ever been in a house where people have been smoking cigarettes for years and years, you may notice that walls which are supposed to be white will have a yellowish tint to them. its pretty nasty--thats what the shit is doing to your lungs too.

try a lite solution of hydrogen peroxide and water...

i have never tried it...
you dont smell bleach in dr.s office or hospital..

Its smell is very strong and it cannot be removed easily, if it has been very near to the clothes then it will not go until you wash it. There are many singers who have been talking this type of drugs and they have been very much into it.

the smell will seap into the walls and carpets, you'll need thorough carpet cleaning down and walls washed.
