Since I'm a hopeless Floyd addict I figured I might as well start a thread about Floyd and anything weed-related about them. Any thoughts, rants or discussions about any aspect of Floyd welcome ... post 'em up.

For me anyway Floyd is the perfect stoner music ... the complexity and flow of their music is amazing, the philosophies of their writing, Gilmour and Wright's crazy solos ... definitely one of the most amazing bands ever to exist.

i remember a few months ago i was at a gig where the lead singer proclaimed that he wrote the song, they continued to play 'wish you were here'. there was a near riot in the place after what the singer said, he's called christy dignan an is the singer with aslan with is the bigget band with the sorta rough crowed, alot of countries like usa, uk and france have rap as their spokes music for the rougher class crowed but not in ireland, for example u2 are from the roughest area in the country called ballymun, like compton or hell's kitchen would be for the usa or brixton would be for the uk. aslans version of wish you were here is fantastic but there such cheeky bastards for what christy said but still, best pink floyd song by miles.
p.s. im pissed drunk :o

If anybody here hasn't seen the Pulse DVD baked, do so right now. It's the 1994 Division Bell tour (Gilmour, Wright, Mason) with a shitload of weird backup musicians, live at Earls Court in London. It's awesome when baked or tripping, the light show alone is mind blowing, plus it's the first recorded performance of DSOTM, and has the best live performances of Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell that I've ever heard. Check it out.

watch the "pulse" dvd. in a dark room with 5.1 surround and if your really stoned lieing in a bed or on the floor or couch.. lazy boys are best you will feel like your being lightly pushed down and the visuals are amazing. and with the sound going aroudn the room with the surround. it is one of the best experiences pinkfloyd could provide you with.

There's a CD of it? I thought that the Pulse CD was a compilation of excerpts from multiple gigs, and the DVD was 20 October 1994 at Earls Court. I'll have to check that out, you're probably right, and if that's the case than I'm buying that shit ASAP. I need that Comfortably Numb cover on my iPod, so sick.

live in pompeii. IS SUGGESTED. i watched that when i was 100% sober and it made me feel high and tripped out. i havent watched it stoned yet though. directors cut adds some pretty good humour and its interesting. normal version is just an insane musical trip without humour really. but pulse is just liek a surrounding amazing experience you havent being tripped out by music until youve experienced those.

led zeppelin dvd is also cool. not as good of a high booster i dont htink ive never tried watchin it stoned. i dont think...wait yeah i have. but its a solid dvd either way. the double disc one im not sure of the concert and name and stuff.

The Wall is a right intense movie. ive watched is sober, and it freaked me right out, just so fucking complex and meaningful and deep and shit, then i watched it high, and it transported me to another dimension.

wish you were here, dark side of the moon, and echoes (the best of 2 cd) are 3 of my favourite albums.

also, has anyone heard of the Easy Star All Stars, they covered dark side of the moon IN DUB style, called, you guessed it 'Dub Side Of The Moon"

irs freaking awesome.

Yeah, I've heard Dub Side of the Moon, pretty cool. The Zeppelin DVD is fun to watch stoned, but nowhere near the intensity of Floyd, plus it's really long so I usually end up switching movies by the end of the first disc. The Wall is like being transported to another dimension, and it's impossible to comprehend in its entirety. www.thewallanalysis.com might help though. For true Floyd experience, Live at Pompeii is ultimate, because it has all the original members, in the time period before Roger Waters got power-hungry. Pulse is top for tripping out though ... the encore is mind-blowing if you're peaking on any psychedelic, acid especially.
