I almost got caught once. My dad came upstairs to make sure my room was clean before I was allowed to hang out with my friends, and I forgot that I left my bong on my dresser. He was about to go into my room when the phone rang. When he answered it, I flew into the room and put away the bong. It was the scariest moment I'd ever experienced.

There is NOTHING wrong with pot, it's so horribly steroytyped and demonised that people from the Baby Boomer/Gen X seem to think it's the devil encarnate. You need to go on the offensive. Tell them that their is nothing wrong with it, that it doesn't ruin lives. To top it off tell them how long you've been smoking and how they didn't notice (of course they will say they noticed something but their just bullshitting you.)

Finally, tell the truth. Your going to continue to smoke pot, regardless of what they think. That you have made a concious (sp?) and informed descistion and there is nothing they can do about it. Try to make them open their eyes and see that weed is not bad, it's not even a drug.

So here's the deal with parents and weed. Seems every gen feels they invented the stuff. You talk about the repression and strictness and BS you have to put up with. It's all just part of the game. Your parents all got high at some point, unless you're my age. They don't give a crap about weed. They all feel it should be legal and regulated and taxed to high heaven. They also have a mission to try to raise all you frikin ragamuffins and give you a set of values and standards. What you do with them is your business. If you get ragged on, justify it by telling yourself, it's cuz they love you. They do. If you don't get ragged on, it's not cuz they don't care, they do. They trust you to make the right decision, or at least don't want to push you in a direction you may push back. I call it the "preachers daughter" syndrom. If discipline is too harsh, when freedom is finally realized, extreme mistakes can be made. Best to let some kids ease into life with minor mistakes along the way.
At any rate, I got busted with weed, My 17 year old son found my film container and pipe under the mat in the car. I usually have some on me, it was a matter of time. Now we just get high and play vids together rather than me hiding in the bathoom to get high.
If you are worrying about it screwing up your life, don't sweat it. My wife and I are gainfully employeed and quite successful. You can be what you want and still get high every day. Just stay off the hard shit.

hiding weed around your kids is something i think is only necessary if you believe your children arent mature enough to face the fact you smoke weed. im sure you might be afraid they might tell everyone, and they might if they are fairly young. but dont hide it forevor, its better off to tell your kids the truth sooner or later. i feel the same for telling parents sooner or later you smoke weed. some parents may take it more harsh than others, but its best to let them know how you feel. there are some parents that may be best not to tell, (ones that take you to boot camp) which i understand. you just gotta wait when you think its best to tell your parents u do, i have yet told my dad how i feel about smoking weed, but my time is soon to come to tell him. its kind of like a gut feeling i guess when you thinks its best to tell your parents.

well ive been smoking for a few years, and im ok. heh.
if she caught me, she'd prob just be really dissapointed and ask me to give it up, for my own health, as in her mind its like eating cyanide and arsenic.

dad however, growing up in the carribbean is fairly cool with it.
he caught me and a few mates hotboxing the granny flat down the back, and the first words out of this mouth were "whos got the dope eh? wheres my fucking share?"
he basically saiz "dont get caught, dont be stupid with it, and dont let it affect your grades or spend all your $$ on it"

how old are you, rob? I started smoking weed when I was 12. I quit to join the USAF at 18 and then immedialty started smoking again when I was finished with my 4 year tour. I served 2 years as a reservist and was high for every roll call! My mom found out that I was smoking weed when I was like 16 or 17... She had no room to talk as her restaurant was known for the Coke connection in town. she was not a user (at least I do not think that she was!), but becuz I knew about the coke there, she had nothing to say about it... I did a better job of hiding my sweet pleasure after that. Try glass pipes... no ashes... try the old fabric softener in the empty paper towel roll for exhale if you are dumb enough to smoke at home... If these do not work, hide your weed some where else!

I got home from work tonight around 6:00 and the painters are the only ones there one is around like 25 or so and the other is like 40. The first thing they say to me is "Your mom knows why your window was opened last night" and I was like "OHHHHH SHIT". They were laughing and confessed to being potheads themselves. So later at about 8:00 my dad was like we need to talk your busted. So we are all sitting in my family room talking about me smoking weed(Me, Mom and Dad). My dad went with the too risky approach, but I felt terrible when my mom said "You know that you broke my heart" that made me think. So now I don't know what to do whether to quit or not, but I guess we will find out. They found my two joints that were in a jar under a shirt in my room because my dad smelt it last night, so I didn't want to lose my weed so I rolled 2 doobs out of pencil shavings from a pencil sharpener and replaced them. Also, I go to a private school in Cincinnati.

Anyone else have any expierences with getting busted?

my mom said that EXACT same shit word for word man...i think its on some stoners mom website...anyways when i got caught my dad said that because its illegal i shouldnt be doing it...but i basically told him that i was just gonna finish the bag i had left and be done with it...HE BOUGHT THE BAG OFF ME...lol i ripped him off like a motherfucker too...about a joints worth of shake and a tiny ass bud for 30 bucks lol...he knew he was gettin ripped off but i told him i didnt wanna part with it for anything less and that if he didnt wanna buy it i could always just go smoke it so he did...then i took the 30 and went and bought more weed...but then a couple months later i got a MIP for alcohol and so he figured out that i was lying about quitting everything bad...and as much as i love my parents they just dont understand what theyre asking me to do...
