4 inches at 5 weeks!!!

Postby Tok3nHybrid » Sun Apr 02, 2006 2:23 am

I am clearly doing something wrong here. My plants are just random bunk seeds that a friend gave to me (definately looking into actual strains of seeds). So far i have given them an 18/6 light schedule ( with GE glo-sticks) and water the soil when ever i see that it is dry. I have added miracle grow which apparently should make them grow but they look kind of like palm trees with about 3 or 4 sets of branches at the top which are consentrated in about 2 - 2 and 1/2 cm. I've seen pictures of similar plants and they are MUCH taller with the same kind of ropey but sturdy stem. If anyone has advice on the matter i would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. anyone know how to nurse a sunburned plant?

thanks for the time guys

Lol i realize that i am in desprate need of photos. Working on getting digi cam i can use to post the photos. I trimmed the utter most brown parts of the leaf theat i know for sure wouldnt have regenerated ( really really dry and the leaf bagan splitting down the middle only at the tip). The plants i have are also quite strage as they came from the same plant but one of the two has smooth(no ridges) inner parts on the two outside sections of the leaf. Oh and i forgot to mention my plants are only producing 3 pointed leaves? anyclue?

Thanks again guys will have some pics set up to post to you guys.

ya you shouldn't use fertilizer until the plants have been growing for a few weeks because you can fry them. Miracle grow isn't very good, but it is very good at advertising their products so thats why they're so popular. If i were you i would try to find a Hydroponic store around town and they should help you out, The hydro stores around where i live are all very generous with sharing beneficial information about growing  . General Hydroponics makes good fertilizer. If you haven't done so you should also go down to a book store or something and grab a book on growing pot because i found it super useful, Ed Rosenthal writes some great books.

Killed and replaced.

Postby Tok3nHybrid » Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:07 am

Instead of worrying about lights and fertilizers that harmed my plants which were burt both from the lights in the bin i had them, and from the mircacle grow fertilizer i decided that the plants that were approaching their six week mark and should be destroyed . I went out and bought 4 100w incandecent bulbs which give off 1420 lumens each. I am looking into buy an HPS light but at the time i didn't have 40 bucks to drop on the bulb and the balast :(. I have three plants which are in untaineted soil and are all above 3 incehs within just one week.8) I have the proper organic fertilizer and some decent lights which according to my friend will allow the plants to reach heights of 5 feet or maybe more :D. I appreciated all the advice you guys offered me with my predicament. I'm not sure if i should post the new pictures of my three plants in this thread or another. Hopefully it will be a good grow.

Thanks again guys and keep yuh heads up

I just wanted to state that i was not for incandecent lights. We didnt have to spend any money on the lights or the organic ferts (already had some).
I do appreciate the constructive criticism, but im not the one who was all for incadecent bulbs ... looked into HPS and MH .. but alas i am once again limited by the ineptitude of the general public ... in other words .. the people at the store either didn't know what a balast was or they didn't know in what section of the store they were located.this was at Home Depot too . So im gonna see how the incandecent bulbs work out. If they suck i have a few flourecents on hand that i can use to replace them with- One cool white and one warm red. Thanks again. And this morning i noticed some new growth :o. I also have the assisstance of a teacher at school and i know what most people think and no he won't bait my scene out because we smoke with him on the regular and he himself grows .. he also claims that a few 100w incandecent blubs will do the trick.

regular house bulbs work for a little while. the plant will grow because of the heat and the little big of light its getting, but it wont flower worth a damn or at all. u wont find hps ballests at a home depot, u have to go to a grow shop, and ur looking at spending 200+ bucks.. so u better start saving money now if u want to grow, otherwise get some compact floros and grow better pot than reg house bulbs, but dont expect much

compact floro's arent exspensive either, so you will only need like 30 bucks.

subburn marijuana

Postby johard59 » Mon Aug 30, 2010 8:29 am

its tough to bring up the sub burn, how is the plant grown, so is the temperature and sunlight should be maintained, watering ?
so keep on drip watering, give a shade to your plants, hope may it get regenerated
